    Wenjing Gong is a partner at Merits & Tree. Prior to joining M&T, Mr. Gong served as a judge in Wuhan Maritime Court of the People's Republic of China and the Supreme People’s Court of The People’s Republic of China for 14 years, and served as a consultant in Zhong Lun Law Firm.

     

    Mr. Gong has rich experience in the fields of non-performing assets, special situation investment and dispute resolution. Mr. Gong provided legal services for many non-performing assets acquisition and disposal projects, and assisted clients in multiple large-scale distressed corporate M&A and restructuring projects. Mr. Gong has served as the chief judge of various departments of the Maritime Court, presiding over thousands of maritime and maritime commercial cases, and specializing in handling disputes over ship construction, ship financing and leasing, international trade, maritime transportation, ship and transportation insurance, and other related matters. During the period of the Supreme Court, Mr. Gong presided over cases covering corporation, finance, insurance, bankruptcy, reorganization, and others of the commercial trial area, and accumulated rich experience in handling complex commercial cases and difficult frontier issues.
